MODEL PH-1000 PREHEATER

FEATURES:

· 36" diameter x 100" face
· One motorized wrap roll
· One stationary idler roll
· Pneumatic drum brake
· Krytox lubrication on heated rolls

PREHEATER DRUM

Preheater drum will be built to ASME Section VIII Division I having a design pressure of 175/190 psi and a design operating temperature of 360o F. Drums will be certified and documented and have a National Board stamp and number.

The shell material will be SA516 Gr 70 1" thick with the seam weld ultra sonic tested. The end heads will be flat, material will be 3-1/4" thick to SA516Gr70. The journals at the end disc will be 8" thick SA266 forged steel. The journals will also be supported internally with 3/4" thick SA516 Gr 70 stiffeners.

Each drum will have a 2" NPT minimum clean out hole. Drums will be thermal stress relieved before final machining at 1150o/1200o F for 1-3/4 hours. Drum will be hydrotested at 285 psi.

Journals will be machined to an exact specification and ground to tolerance at the bearing fits. Drum outer face will be finish ground to 63 RMS.

FRAME CONSTRUCTION

The side frames are fabricated from 3/4" steel plate and 7/8" x 6" flat stock reinforced with ten (10) 7/8" gussets. The frames are then stress relieved and completely machined to exact tolerances. They are connected together with one 18" channel iron which is machined on both ends. The finished frame dimensions for a machine with a 36" x 100" drum are: 47" long (paper direction), 55" high and 120" wide.

IDLER / WRAP ROLLS

The rolls are made from 6" O.D. x 5/16" wall, D.O.M. carbon steel tube. the end of each roll is machined for a bearing fit while the O.D. is machined to .001" TIR. Each roll has a 2-1/2" 1045 steel thru shaft.

WRAP ROLL MECHANISM

The wrap roll is controlled by a 2 HP. 3 phase, 1750 RPM motor. The motor is connected to a Grove Gear helical worm reducer which drives a 2-1/2" 1045 steel pinion shaft. the pinion shaft has an adjusting gear on one end to parallel the wrap roll. The wrap arms are pinned and mounted to 22" diameter gears. The gears are fitted with a 10" x 9" x 2" 660 cast bronze bushing. They rotate on steel hubs mounted on each side of the machine.
